a little intro...

Hi! I'm Holly, currently 21 years old. I married my sweetheart on April 28, 2012 and can honestly say I have thoroughly enjoyed the past 9 months with Christian. We are members of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, also known as Mormons (www.mormon.org). The Gospel brings so much joy and understanding to our lives and personally gives me a feeling of purpose, and a plan for my life.

I am currently a receptionist at a local architect firm and feel so blessed to have such a great job! I graduated from Paul Mitchell The School (cosmetology) in Holladay a few months back, and while I appreciated my time there and gained so many new friends...I am SO glad to be done! {Feel free to contact me for all of your hair needs!} I'm learning to become a better wife and homemaker...especially when it comes to cooking and doing laundry. I've always had a knack for making yummy treats, but dinners have never been my expertise - and Christian had to teach me how to operate our washer and dryer haha.

Christian is currently a student at BYU pursuing a Civil Engineering degree and would eventually like go into aviation. He is also employed at a local engineering company as a computer drafter. I am so grateful to have met him and to have luckily won him over and claimed him as mine. So I guess this leads into how we met.

Let's see, Summer of 2007 I was out driving around with some friends when we came across a car full of boys next to us. Being high school girls, we decided to follow them around for a while and see if we could get their attention. This led into a 20 minute chase, and the boys were aware of us and kept egging it on. We both ended up pulling over in a high school parking lot and some of us exchanged phone numbers. As a result of this, Olivia, my best friend who was driving that day ended up dating Jeremy (Christian's best friend). Christian and I were both single so they decided to hook us up. On August 17, 2007 we went on our first date to the drive-in movie theater. Neither of us can recall what movie we saw, probably because our nerves got to the best of us, but I remember having a good time. For the next few days we did something together every day and by August 22 we were "officially" dating. Christian was my first "real" boyfriend and I was his first girlfriend. We continued to date for a year until he left on his mission to South Houston, Texas on August 20, 2008. We weren't together by the time he got home in August of 2010, but would occasionally hang out, go on dates and talk. We started dating again September of 2011 and were engaged on November 23, 2011. People tell us we moved too fast, and to make sure we knew what we were doing, but we KNEW. We got married the April 28, 2012 and have been happily together ever since.

{The night we got engaged, don't mind my brown hair}

My purpose for this blog is not to brag about how good my life is, my marriage is, or to share how good of a cook  I am or how crafty I can be - but to document my first years of marriage, whatever that may mean. Too often I find that young wives and mothers like to make their lives look so glamorous and perfect, when let's face it - that is almost never the case. I am happy and content with the life I am currently leading through all of the struggles and happy times and don't see a reason to say things how they aren't. MY life is perfect to ME and I don't need to prove it to anyone else. Therefore, anyone reading this will get to see our true colors which I feel makes this blog more personable than some others.

XoXo,
Holly
